PIANO CASTER CUPS
A piano can weigh anywhere from 500 pounds to 1,000 pounds. This puts enormous pressure on the floor, whether hardwood or carpeted. Caster cups help protect your floor or carpet from the pressure of the casters.
We offer three sizes of caster cups: small for uprights pianos, large and extra large for grand pianos. The small caster cups are sold in set of 4 and made out of plastic. The large and extra large casters are sold in set of 3 and made of hard plastic. | PIANO BENCH CUSHIONSOur piano bench cushions are made with velour and beautifully tufted with 8 buttons on both sides. Completely reversible, the piano bench pad attaches to your piano bench with 3 tie stings that wrap around the underbelly of your piano bench top. The one inch (1") polyurethane foam padding allows for more comfort in playing. Our piano bench cushions are available in: black, dark brown, dark red, beige, or dark green. A HYGROMETER is a good way to measure the humidity (water vapor) in the air. Piano manufacturers suggest that the ideal humidity level for pianos is about 40 to 60 percent. One of the most important rules for good piano maintenance is to keep the humidity constant.
In North America, indoor humidity goes from very high to very low and back again. The swing in humidity causes alternate expansion and contraction. This in turns can cause shrinking, cracking or warping even to wood that has been well seasoned prior to manufacturing.
It is therefore important to provide a continuous exchange of moisture between the air and the wood piano parts in the house, to attain a state of equilibrium. | | |
